Filled with memorable music, enduring values, and an inspiring story of faith, courage, family, and hope, The Sound of Music remains one of the world's most beloved musicals. We'll enjoy comfortable motorcoach transportation, Christian fellowship, and one of Broadway's greatest productions in the beautiful Orpheum Theatre.

Enhance your theater experience by traveling aboard a deluxe Thielen motorcoach for just $30 per person. The coach will depart Martin Luther College in New Ulm at 4:00 p.m., with optional pickup stops in St. Peter and Shakopee. Travelers will enjoy a 50-minute dinner break in Shakopee, where several popular restaurants—including Panera, Chipotle, Five Guys, Jimmy John's, and Wendy's—are conveniently located within walking distance. We expect to arrive at Minneapolis' historic Orpheum Theatre by 6:45 p.m., allowing ample time to find your seat and relax before the 7:30 p.m. performance. A detailed itinerary is provided below.

This special outing is open to all WELS and ELS members. To keep costs as low as possible, we are covering all online booking fees, allowing you to pay by either e-check or credit card (normally subject to a 2.9% processing fee) at no additional cost. Current MLC students are eligible for additional discounted pricing while supplies last.

We are offering three seating options for this performance.

Lower Orchestra (Restricted View - SOLD OUT) – These seats are located within five rows of the stage on the side orchestra. While the extreme edge of the stage on your side may be partially obstructed, these aisle seats provide an exceptional close-up view of the performers and orchestra, creating an intimate and immersive theater experience with convenient aisle access.
Main Floor (Behind Accessible Seats - Limited Availability). These seats are located 2/3 of the way back on the lower level (right side). Generally considered an unrestricted view they are located behind an accessible seating row and a high wheelchair may partially impede the view.

Mid Balcony (Preferred View) – These seats are located in the balcony (Sections 8 and 9, Rows H–P), approximately rows 8–16 of the 23-row balcony. From this elevated vantage point, you'll enjoy an unobstructed view of the entire stage, allowing you to fully appreciate the scenery, choreography, and staging throughout the performance.
